1. What is DFM?
There is a definition on Baidu, and a screenshot is provided. You can refer to the picture for the details. Here, I will express it in my own words. DFM (Design for Manufacturability) is actually a bridge between R&D and production. It facilitates communication between the two, by simplifying, optimizing, and improving the product design, to manufacture better products at a lower cost.
DFM (Design for Manufacturability) means considering manufacturability from the very beginning of product development, making a close connection between design and manufacturing, and achieving the goal of a successful transition from design to manufacturing.
The specific situations are as follows:
Identify potential problems during the design stage and provide solutions
Avoid component design errors
Have the opportunity to make appropriate component replacements, improve component quality or reduce costs, while still meeting the original requirements
Improve the production efficiency of the production process and component quality Reduce the cost of product production
